Kevin Moore 2004 Tom Thumb Graduate
I just became aware of a 2004 Tom Thumb graduate who graduated from West Point with honors. Although this news has been delayed, it is still newsworthy and important to us.
Mrs. Brophy was an Army-Brat growing up through high school and is always proud to know any of her students who have graduated from the prestigious West Point Military Academy. Our preschool is dedicated to the Next Great Generation of Americans. Our entire Tom Thumb staff is overjoyed about Kevin Moore’s accomplishment and success. Kevin is definitely one of the Next Great Generation of Americans from Tom Thumb that we are constantly talking about as our greatest achievement. Tom Thumb students will help change our world.
Kevin Moore, a Shrub Oak resident, attended Tom Thumb Preschool and Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. He graduated from Lakeland High School in 2017 after being appointed to join the Class of 2021 at West Point.
While at Lakeland, Moore was a captain of the football and wrestling teams, vice president of the National Honor Society, and a member of the Spanish Honor Society.
At West Point, Moore majored in military history, was inducted into the National History Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta, and participated in the Sandhurst Military Skills Competition for four years.
Kevin Moore graduated Magna Cum Laude from the United States Military Academy at West Point on May 22, 2021. He is in the top 10 percent of his class and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. After West Point, he attended the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course (IBOLC) at Fort Benning, Georgia, for about six months, then traveled to his post in Vilseck, G. Germany, with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment. His military commitment is to 2026 unless he decides to stay in the Army.
The Most Advance Playground Facilities in the Area
Tom Thumb Campus has the State-of-the-Art of Playgrounds in our Local Area
Our playgrounds are the most advanced play facilities in our local area. Tom Thumb Campus playgrounds are exclusively for our ThumBelina and Tom Thumb students and Lakeland Elementary School Students who attend our Stay and Play Program. Our Tom Thumb Campus playgrounds are also for kids who attend our summer day camp, Catch Us If You Can. Our playground facility is designed and implemented for age-appropriate play and with safety in mind. Our staff always supervises kids that play in our playgrounds.
At the Tom Thumb Camp, we take your child’s security seriously. We developed our security policy, emergency procedures and processes after consulting with an experienced national security expert and our local Police and Fire Department. The Tom Thumb Campus has video cameras both inside the building and on the playgrounds.
Our playgrounds are accessible only by going through our building and are fenced-in and secure from the outside. Visitors are only allowed to our playgrounds when properly validated by the front office as authorized and are always escorted while on the premises. Pickup of any child will be granted only if the requesting person is on the authorized list by the parent and has the correct release code by the parent. It may also require a phone call to the parent for double approval.

Casey and Brandon – Tom Thumb Graduates
What are the chances of bumping into two Tom Thumb Graduates in a huge medical facility?
Since Tom Thumb Preschool opened its doors in 1968, over 11,000 Tom Thumber have graduated. Now, Westchester Medical Center, located in Valhalla, NY, is a 415-bed academic hospital and the flagship of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network. Westchester Medical Center employs more than 13,000 people, including nearly 3,000 attending physicians.
So, it was a delightful surprise to meet 2 Tom Thumb graduates at this huge medical facility in Valhalla that’s part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, which is composed of 10 hospitals on 8 campuses and spans 6,200 square miles in the lower and mid-Hudson Valley.
I met two Tom Thumb Graduates, Casey and Brandon, at the Valhalla medical facility. Each Tom Thumber was from a different graduation year. Casey and Brandon remember their Tom Thumb experience and consider it a benefit and contributor to who they are and their success. Casey is an occupational therapist and lives in Westchester County. Brandon is part of the PT medical staff and lives in Dutchess County.
It was wonderful talking with Casey and Brandon and reminiscing. I asked them to pose for a picture so I could share it on the Tom Thumb Blog.

Google Review from Erik Jackson
We are always pleased to receive Google Reviews. However, at Tom Thumb Preschool, we receive most of our positive feedback from personal handwritten notes and Thank You Notes. We post some of these notes as blog posts. But there are just too many to publish on this website. For parents who want to present feedback on Tom Thumb, please write a Google Review. We appreciate the following review from Erik.
Please click on Tom Thumb Campus Google Review, to provide a Google Review of your experience with our school. Thank you.
Note from Amanda
Hi Mrs Fitzgerald,
Logan and I had the most amazing experience at CVS on Monday. A lovely couple went out of their way to talk with Logan and surprised him by buying a toy fire truck that he was admiring. The woman was “Madame” (Ann Gaspari) – she said worked with you at Tom Thumb for many years! (she taught French)
If you are in contact with her, please extend my deepest gratitude for her kindness and generosity. It caught me by surprise just as much as Logan – the world needs more of these small acts of love ♡.
I hope you enjoy the long weekend!
Amanda S.
