Tom Thumb Alumni Thank You Note from the Lena Family
A Tom Thumb First
We receive many thank you notes from parents about the value of Tom Thumb and the terrific results of our program. We always appreciate the feedback and your praises. We try to publish a few of these thank you notes when we manage to get them to our webmaster.
The above note is from a Tom Thumb Alumni, Mrs. Lena, thanking Mrs. Brophy for a wonderful school. It’s always a pleasure to hear from parents that are Tom Thumb Alumni. We believe they have a deeper understanding of our programs and our approach to child development because they went through it.
The above note is from a Tom Thumb Alumni that in itself is really nothing out of the ordinary. We have a number of alumni that have enrolled their children in Tom Thumb over the years. These kids are the second generation of Tom Thumbers. These parents have sent us thank-you notes in the past. We are grateful for the positive feedback and their recommendations and suggestions. In fact, as our thank-you to the alumni, if either parent was a Tom Thumb graduate, they receive a 10% tuition discount. We are honored to have these second-generation students, where one of the parents was a Tom Thumb student.
A bit more of a rarity and a special case is the few students that are the third generation Tom Thumbers. This is a situation where one of the grandparents and either the Mother or Father attended Tom Thumb. They have also thanked us. All of us at Tom Thumb are very thankful and also honored to have these third-generation students attend Tom Thumb.
But, the above Lena Family thank-you-note is a first. This is a thank you note, where both Mother and Father attended Tom Thumb — an extremely rare occurrence of Tom Thumb students being married, having children, living in the area and their kid or kids attending Tom Thumb. What are the chances of something like this happen in the Lakeland School District? If you know of any other families, where both parents are Tom Thumbers and they have a child attending Tom Thumb, please let me know by completing a comment for this blog article.
I guess the most improbable situation is where a third-generation Tom Thumber that has either grandparent or parents that the husband and wife are both Tom Thumb graduates.
What Can You Expect at “Catch Us If You Can” Summer Camp during a Rainy Day?
When it’s a rainy day at our summer camp, we still have activities and play inside our Tom Thumb Facilities. The children are able to choose from a variety of┬á fun activities. Campers can play together or by themselves or in combination. Our summer camp, “Catch Us If You Can“, is completely supervised and monitored by adults camp leaders and camp counselors. Our camp is a secure and safe place, where kids have fun and burn energy .
We send our campers home tired, so they will have a good night’s sleep and be ready for the next fun-filled-day of camp with more play. Whether it’s rain or shine, our campers have fun by running around, playing sports, playing games, playing with toys and/or doing arts and crafts. We believe child’s play is the work required for a healthy body and mind. Our Tom Thumb Facility is designed and built for children to play and have fun in a safe and secure environment.
We are “Catch Us If You Can” a terrific summer camp run by Nancy Brophy at Lake Mohegan, New York on the Tom Thumb Campus. Our camp is a day camp for kids from 4 years old to 5th grade. “Catch Us If You Can” is a quality fun camp to allow our camper to unwind for the summer. We offer a wonderful camp experience at a reasonable price.
Here’s what you can expect on a rainy day, our camper will use the same Tom Thumb Campus Facilities as seen in the videos below. Watch our video, see the kids energy being spent having fun.
“It’s always wonderful to hear about our Tom Thumb graduates. We never tire of the accolades from both parents and Lakeland Kindergarten teachers. But, it shouldn’t be a surprise.Tom Thumb Preschool is a private school since 1968. All our classes and activities are lead by experienced NYS accredited teachers. We provide the first formal schooling┬á for kids and make it a fun experience for a lifetime of learning.” Nancy Brophy

Subject: Thank you!
Good Morning Mrs. Brophy,
This is a belated Thank You email for everything you did for my son Jason who graduated last year from Tom Thumb. My wife and I knew he was in great hands when we picked him up and dropped him off every day; but as we sit here nearly a year later watching him develop and grow in Kindergarten, we feel a tremendous amount of gratitude for what you and your team provided to Jason.
He’s doing great at Primrose, even scoring a 97 on his STAR exams. In fact, even his teachers have mentioned that they don’t feel their curriculum challenges him as much as it should…he breezes through it, so they will be coming up with new things for him to learn. From his confidence to his love of music, reading and math abilities, social interaction – all the foundations you and your team laid out, have given him a wonderful footing to build upon. He still talks about Tom Thumb with a great big smile and tells us how much he misses it.
A sincere thank you. You made a great difference in yet another young life!
UPDATE: Tom Thumb Campus now has room at our facilities to accommodate therapists who need to see children that will receive special services (for: speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy). Tom Thumb will provide access and facility space for those therapists that have been authorized by parents for scheduled sessions with their child.
For those therapists interested or parents that want to schedule time for their child’s therapist, please contact Nancy Cappello directly at (914) 528-5600.
